The ABA is the peak body representing the interests of bird keepers (aviculturists) in the importation of relevant Avian Genetic Material and, under the guidance of Dr Paul Gilchrist BVSc FANZCVS, is presently preparing a submission for avian protocols at the new Post Entry Quarantine Facility to be built at Mickleham near Melbourne airport.
What the ABA can do for you!
The ABA is available to all bird keepers (aviculturists), for consultation and advice pertaining to the keeping of any bird species within the confines of the various local, state and federal legislations.
Bird keepers (aviculturists) seeking assistance from the ABA will be expected to be a member of the ABA (as defined by the ABA constitution) either as an individual or a member of an ABA affiliated club or company. Enquiries are welcome from non-members who will be asked to join the ABA should it be necessary to take any action on their behalf.
